Teleseminars and Webinars:
Pitfalls To Avoid

Webinars & teleseminars are a vital part of online business!

If you have ever hosted a teleseminar or webinar, you already know that many things can go wrong. However, there are ways to prevent things from going wrong, if you know what pitfalls to avoid.

First, don't schedule or promote your call more than one week in advance. People tend to sign up for things, and then promptly forget about them. Avoid this by not promoting your call more than a week in advance. Also make sure that you send out reminder emails about the event, especially the day before and the day that the event is to take place.

Turn off call waiting before your event starts. When calls come in, it leaves blank spaces on the call recording, which makes it seem like the recording is flawed. You obviously will not be accepting other calls during the time of your teleseminar, so simply turn the call waiting feature on your phone off. You can contact your local telephone service provider for instructions on how to do this.

Offer bonuses to your participants. This is not only a great way to get participation for your event; it's also a great way to start building a relationship with the participants, even if they don't buy anything from you right now.

Choose your content carefully. Believe it or not, nobody really wants to listen to you or your speaker talk about the success you've had for a solid hour. Instead, they want a brief synopsis of your success, and then they want you to tell them how they can achieve the same level of success. It's not about YOU, it's about the participants. Teach, don't preach or lecture.

Don't view the end of the teleseminar as the absolute end…it's really just the beginning. If you want

to sell to your participants, 90% of the actual selling will take place after the event, not during.

Stay in control of the call at all times, even if someone else is speaking. Make sure that your speakers are staying on topic and on schedule, and that the conversation doesn't come to a halt. The content must also be engaging to keep callers on the line. If they are bored, they will hang up.
