Teleseminars & Webinars - Teleseminars and Webinars: Are Bonuses Required?

You may have seen teleseminars and webinars that offer bonuses to participants. In fact, more and more marketers are taking this approach, and there is a very good reason for it. People love getting free things, and bonuses allow them to do this – but are bonuses absolutely required in order to hold a successful teleseminar or webinar?

In a word, no, they are not, but they sure do help. If nobody is interested enough to sign up for your event, the event is a failure before it even starts. However, if they see that you are offering a bonus to participants, they may be more inclined to sign up – to get the bonus if nothing else.

Don't let this prospect bother you. Since ideally you will not give the information for collecting the bonus until the end of the call, you have the entire call to convince your participants to take the action you want them to take, before they collect that bonus.

So, bonuses can be used to attract participants, but bonuses are useful in other ways as well. If your bonus is a download of an information product, you can still get yourself in front of your prospect after the call – through the bonus. Make sure that the information product contains a link to your website, and even to the order page for the product you are trying to sell, and use other affiliate links throughout the bonus where it is appropriate to do so.

Bonuses serve yet another purpose. If you have the option between attending a teleseminar about how to get rid of fleas on dogs that does not offer a bonus, and a teleseminar about how to get rid of fleas on dogs that does offer a bonus, which one would you choose? You would choose the one that has the bonus, of course, and so would your potential participants!
