Teleseminars: How Many
Lines Do You Need?

Webinars & teleseminars are a vital part of online business!

More than once, the hosts of teleseminars have found that they either had too many lines for their event, or worse, not enough lines. Since it is hard to predict how many people will register for your event, this is a very common problem.

It is important to remember that if you are given the choice, it is always better to have too many lines than it is to not have enough! Ideally, you should have no less than 100 lines. Even the free services will allow you to have this many. But you need to consider how your event is going to be promoted before you decide that 100 lines are enough for you.

For example, if you have three JV partners, and each of those JV partners has an email list that runs up into the thousands, 100 lines for your call will most likely not be enough, and it's hard to determine just how many lines will be enough! If you are using a paid service to host your call, you will be charged per line, which means that you cannot afford to make an estimate that ends up being way off!

However, there is a way to ensure that you have enough lines, without running too much of a risk. Have a set limit of lines, and a set number of participants that you will accept. This serves three purposes actually, the first of which is that it won't leave you hanging with too few or too many lines.

If you and your JV partners start promoting your event, stating that there are only 200 spots available, this creates urgency and makes people want to hurry up and register so that they get a spot in the 'exclusive' event. That exclusivity is the third benefit of limiting your phone lines. Everyone wants to be a part of something that is exclusive.

Discuss the needed lines with your JV partners.
