Teleseminar Content

Webinars & teleseminars are a vital part of online business!

One mistake that you absolutely must avoid in your teleseminars is scripting. You do not want to plan exactly what you, or your guest speaker, are going to say during the call. You do not want to follow a script. This will sound forced and unnatural to your participants, and that is a very bad thing.

However, at the same time, it's equally bad to rush into your teleseminar completely unprepared. It's advisable to make an outline of the points you want to cover, and to go over this with your guest speaker. It is also a good idea, if the teleseminar will be done in the style of an interview, to present your guest speaker with the questions that you intend to ask.

Again, you don't want the speaker to script their answers. You need to let them know this. Instead, simply ask them to read over the questions so that they aren't surprised by anything during the call.

As for call content, you must have some idea as to what will be said in the call because you've already come up with the topic. Again, an outline of what you want to cover will prove to be most helpful during the course of the call. Outline your content, in the order you want it presented, and put a time allotment for each item on your list.

There are a couple of options for delivering content as well. One option is to have a guest speaker, and have them do the talking, as discussed above. But another option is to let your participants guide your content. On your registration form, ask the participants what question they have that relates to the topic of your event. Then, during the call, read the questions, giving just first names and last initials of the person asking the question, and either answer the question yourself, or have a guest speaker answer the question.

It can be lonely at the top…bring someone with you. You can have a co-host as well. This person should be just as responsible as you for making sure that the event stays on track, but you may choose to divide up the duties. For instance, it may be your job to ask questions of the guest speaker, and your co-hosts job to make sure that everything stays on track, and to bring it all back where it needs to be if it starts to wander off.
